Connecticut Mental Health Center Foundation, Inc.
Building Healthy Lives & Community
We are a private non-profit supporting organization for the Connecticut Mental Health Center, an enduring and historic partnership between the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry. We raise and administer funds and sponsor programs and public education that help people in mental health and addictions recovery sustain healthy and meaningful lives in the community. The CMHC Foundation helps individuals served by the Connecticut Mental Health Center and the Community Services Network (CSN) for which CMHC is the lead agency.
Founded in 1966, Connecticut Mental Health Center is an urban community mental health center in New Haven, Connecticut, and one of the first community mental health centers of its kind in the country. It has served over 5,000 men and women every year, all of whom are poor with little or no income or insurance. CMHC has an exceptional tradition of supporting individuals living with serious mental illnesses such as psychosis, depression, anxiety, and also those with addictions or co-occurring mental health and addiction problems.
