Volunteering for the Foundation

Volunteers are like priceless gems – always treasured, carefully treated, and definitely wanted!

The Connecticut Mental Health Foundation needs volunteers for a variety of projects and events including:

Full time:
To serve on our Board of Trustees – this kind of volunteer is someone who truly understands our mission, will be devoted to the success of the Foundation and our fund-raising efforts, and is willing to use their contacts, influence and passion to meet our goals. Potential Board members are met by members of the Nominating Committee, and given opportunity to fully understand the Board’s mission before becoming a Trustee. Meetings are approximately 10 times a year, and both financial contributions and committee membership are appreciated and expected.

Part time:
Clerical/Support – The Foundation has a very small staff, so people with the time to help sort, stuff, mail, count, decorate, etc. at the CMHC building on Park Street are needed at various times of the year.

Special Event Support – One way the Foundation raises money is to run special events which have included, a Fashion Show/Dance, an Oscar Night (celebration of the Academy Awards), a golf tournament, and many others.

These always needs the hard-working committee members who will seek out auction items, help with finding locations, planning and decorating, selling tickets, helping with promotion, serving food, or — thinking of new and unusual events for us to try!

We need your hands, your imagination and your community outreach to help people understand the mission of the Foundation, and to support it financially!

Call us at 203-974-7089 to talk with us about how you can help the Foundation in its mission to serve those who come to the Connecticut Mental Health Center.
